The Centre for Cross-Cultural Studies at the Institute of Family Therapy is an exciting new venture, funded by the Lloyds TSB Foundation and in partnership with the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture, the Refugee Council and Nottingham University.

- Family work training for those working with refugees in their own communities in London, Manchester and Cardiff.
- Agency Based Training on cross-cultural / refugee issues across the UK.
- Clinical Services for minority ethnic children, adolescents, adults, couples and families.
- Observation / discussion of family therapy with ethnic minority families.
- Training Courses for those working with interpreters.
- Supervision / consultation on cross- cultural issues to individuals and organisations.
- Research and clinical audit.

Cultural Understandings of Attachment Relationships
28th February, 5:00-7:30 pm, IFT
The Centre for Cross-Cultural Studies at the
Chip’s presentation will contain a mixture of didactic and experiential methods. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their own culture in relation to attachment issues. The links between attachment and the experience of cultural trauma will be explored.
