Working with metaphors to externalise clients' narratives

5th July

Metaphors can be a powerful addition to practitioners' toolkits, enabling them to be in, and manage, conversations that require them to work with delicate and emotional issues.  Dr Bond will use a collection of objects / toys as metaphors to externalise relationships, identify patterns of relating and to help clients connect to stories lived, stories told and stories yet to be told.  The workshop will offer participants opportunity to "play" with the ideas of using metaphor in their work with clients or in supervision/consultation.

Presenter: Dr Sharon Bond, Consultant Systemic Psychotherapist, trainer at the Institute of Family Therapy and the Tavistock Clinic, and Director of Chiron Consultation and Therapy Services.
