Systemic interviewing, the therapeutic relationship and the development of therapeutic style

26th November

In this workshop, John Burnham and Barry Mason will present the interviewing techniques they have developed and written about in the past 20 years. They will place these skills in the context of their thinking about the therapeutic relationship, and explore how the self of the person influences the self of the practitioner and their therapeutic style. New ideas about reflecting teams and reflecting processes (a jointly authored article in preparation) will also be presented.

Presenters: John Burnham, Consultant Family and Systemic Psychotherapist; Director of Systemic Training at Parkview Clinic, Birmingham

Dr Barry Mason, Chair of Supervision Programme; Co-Chair of the Doctoral Programme at the Institute of Family Therapy
